Can we be married in a church in Turkey?

Yes. However, only civil marriage is legal in Turkey. Therefore, you would need to have a civil service in addition to a religious one. In the city of Izmir there are various churches including Catholic, Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox. Note however that if you wish to be married by a Catholic priest in Turkey, you must begin an application process with your local parish priest in your home parish, and permission is not always granted. A blessing after your marriage may be offered instead. Note that wedding ceremonies are no longer performed at Mary’s House.
